About our Program
Dance Arts Gillette believes that credentials matter. Especially when it comes to working with your children. We have sought out the safest, most effective curriculum to ensure your child is taught properly and with care. We have certified teachers in Cecchetti Classical Ballet (CUSA) and the Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). In addition, we are blessed with teachers who hold degrees in Education and Physical Therapy.
Just like in school, a dance curriculum is the best way to ensure foundational skills are taught through sequential learning. In regards to a child's physical development, it is of utmost importance to know when to introduce specific skills, increase speed and repetition, and what prerequisites are needed. Another important aspect of a dance curriculum is that it aligns with the goals of all teachers creating continuity and comfort for students.
Included in our curriculum are annual Ballet Exams conducted by CUSA. Exams ensure both teacher and parent that a student is ready to move to the next level. In addition, they offer a wonderful mentoring experience as we ask our older students to assist with the preparations of younger ones.
We are proud to offer dance teacher Certifications, through CUSA, to our teachers and student teachers. The course includes personal mentorship, guidance, and support throughout the entire process. Once teachers are certified, they are qualified to teach ballet and lead students through Exams.
Guest Teachers & Choreographers
Our goal is to offer as much exposure and professional influence to our students as possible! With the help of our Sponsors, we invite the most qualified and respected teachers/choreographers from across the country to our studio to work with our students. The guests we choose align with our philosophy and offer something unique and challenging for our students!
Concert & Theater Performances
Every May Dance Arts Gillette presents a Spring Dance Concert. We stage Classical Ballets as well as Contemporary works with original choreography. Our goal is to provide a full "Art of Dance" experience for our students and families. We have staged student adaptations of the following ballets; Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine's Jewels, The Firebird, and Adventures in Wonderland.
